The stories originally appeared from 1952 to 1963 - in Ellery Queen's, Galaxy, Analog, Science Fiction Stories, Astounding, Analog, Magazine of F&SF. The article and interview date from 1979, 1978 (from SFWA Bulletin and Algol.) Several of these were expanded into novels - but the short versions often have merit.

This book can be considered a variant of the 1984 limited N.E.S.F.A. Press collection Dickson!: with "The Man in the Mailbag" substituted for "The Law-Twister Shorty" and the Interview by Miesel added; contents order is changed.
