The Revolving Boy, by Gertrude Friedberg. Mrs. Nagy had watched her boy Derv exhibit a strange talent from a very young age. He had a need to undo any turns or revolutions he had done during the day, and always knew what direction he faced. You might call his ability "perfect position" the way some musicians had "perfect pitch." But Mrs. Nagy was afraid of when Derv would begin to develop his talent and question where he got his ability, for his parents had a secret... This book develops quietly and logically, and if I had to compare it to other works, I would suggest a combination of John Wyndham and Zenna Henderson. I recommend this.
