The Gorgon and Other Beastly Tales (1985) - a collection by Tanith Lee. The SFBC hardcover is the first and only hardcover edition of this book. Five of these were not picked up for later retrospectives, and can only be found here or in the source magazines or anthologies. This is one of the first books I encounted by Lee, and I would recommend it as a good introduction to her work.

"Qatt-Sup" is original. The rest originally appeared from 1979 to 1984 - in Shadows 5, Amazing, Shadows 4, Night Visions 1, (2) in Twilight Zone, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Unsilent Night, Beyond Lands of Never, Isaac Asimov's. "Sirriamnis" was the only story which had previously appeared in a Lee collection - it was original to Unsilent Night.
