Spine reinforced with 2" non-yellowing library tape; slight tilt to spine. Dedication written on title-page: "Donated by the Last Lafferty Foundation"
Lafferty's stories are colorful, rambunctious, often full of odd myths and cultures. He may be an acquired taste, but for those who have done so, his stories are wonderfully rich and strange.
"Oh Whatta You Do When the Well Runs Dry?" and "And Some in Velvet Gowns" and "The Doggone Highly Scientific Door" are original to this 1984 edition. The rest appeared from 1966 to 1975 - in Galaxy (3), Fantastic (2), Orbit 7, Orbit 8, Orbit 10, Orbit 13, New Dimensions 1, New Dimensions 3, Universe 4, The New Mind (2), Tomorrow's Alternatives and Epoch.
There is some overlap between this and other Lafferty collections: the 5 "Barnaby Sheen" tales (#5-9) had previously appeared in the limited-edition hardcover Through Elegant Eyes, and the 4 stories which first appeared in Orbit anthologies later appeared in the hard-to-find Lafferty in Orbit.
