All stories originally from the mid/late 1800's - from sources like ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS Christmas,1863, ARGOSY (1866), Dealings With the Fairies (1867), Works of Fantasy and Imagination (1871). The four 1980 Eerdman's paperback collections are all derived from a pair of 1973 hardcovers from Eerdman's: The Gifts of the Child Christ, Volumes 1 and 2. That was the second MacDonald collection with that title - the first one was in 1882. "The Carasoyn" is an expansion/combination of "The Fairy Fleet" + "The Fairy Cobbler.")
