Condition is VG+: tight and square; spine is slightly dished with a couple very faint lines; age tanning is very mild and uniform. Front cover is in excellent shape, but back cover has some faint scratches or scuffing (may not show in scan), and a patch of wear along top edge. No stamps, marks or writing.

Away and Beyond - one of Van Vogt's better collections of short stories. This is one of 3 editions that are complete and unabridged. The others are the original 1952 hardcover and the first paperback 1953 Avon edition - so this might be the easist to obtain (and show the least signs of aging.)

These originally appeared from 1940 to 1948 (Van Vogt at his prime) - all but one in Astounding. Many of these were included in a recent "best of" retrospective of Van Vogt by N.E.S.F.A. Press. Several were modified when included in various fix-ups. Known abridged editions are British (Panther) editions (1963 through 1973, and maybe later) - containing 8 of the 9 srories from the 1952 hardcover. The 1959 Berkley paperback (and later reprints) - contain only 7 of 9 srories from the 1952 hardcover.
