Ed Wonder, a television host, makes the mistake of putting him on national TV- finding to his horror that national exposure doesn't ridicule Tubber, it just makes him more powerful. Tubber cursed the TV media itself, with worldwide effect.

Of Godlike Power was serialized in Worlds of Tomorrow in 1965, and retitled in 1968 as Earth Unaware. Belmont books were never common, and are really hard to find these days.
