Since the Assassination

"Since the Assassination" is original to the Faber 1969 hardcover. The rest originally appeared (from 1959 to 1968) - in Science Fiction Adventures (the British continuation), Science Fantasy, Magazine of F&SF, and Amazing. An American variant of this collection came out in 1970: Neanderthal Planet, containing 3 of 5 stories from this and adding a fourth novelet.

Some plot summaries:
Neanderthal Planet - during his return from Nehru II, Anderson wrote a story involving Neanderthal men and woolly rhinos. When he arrived on Earth, it was to find mankind nearly wiped out in the holocaust of Nuclear Week. A new breed of robots had taken over, and after placing Anderson in a "zoo" with other surviving humans - became strangely interested in his story. Why?
Intangibles, Inc. - Do you need a purpose in life? Intangibles, Inc. will give you one. The service is free, but the consequences could cost you everything.
Since the Assassination - 2 extraordinary discoveries - a drug granting immortality and a method of time travel - threaten to plunge mankind into a state of never-ending chaos.
