M-33 in Andromeda (1971) - a collection by A. E. Van Vogt. What makes this collection special is that while most of these stories were revised as parts of fix-up novels - these are the original magazine versions. If you want an idea of what kind of changes Van Vogt made in his fix-ups, here are the original versions. All but one of these came from Astounding (1939 to 1946.)

Siege of the Unseen
Discord in Scarlet
M-33 in Andromeda
The Expendables
Heir Unapparent - (original title: "Heir Apparent")
The Weapon Shop

Short novel "Siege of the Unseen" was a 2-part serial in 1946 titled "The Chronicleer", appeared as half of an Ace-Double in 1959 with this title, and has also been re-titled "The Three Eyes of Evil." Here's the plot-teaser from the Double-book appearance:

At first it was a grotesque discovery, when an accident revealed that young businessman Michael Slade was a bizarre freak - a man with three eyes. But the impact of what it meant to see with three eyes was even more macabre. For Slade, that shocking third eye was his entry into a strange new dimension of terror and adventure - a fearful new world that would wrap itself around him forever!

The next 2 novelets were worked into the last half of The Voyage of the Space Beagle, "The Expendables" (from IF September 1963) was incorporated into Rogue Ship, and "The Weapon Shop" was scattered through The Weapon Shops of Isher.
