Galahad Books: 1993 hardcover (copyright 1897.) This is an "instant remainder" book from Barnes & Noble or a similar bookstore chain. Jacket design by Karen Nelson, 406 pages. (6-1/4" by 9-1/4") Condition is Fine (-) in a near-Fine dustjacket: book is tight and square, light bumping at top & bottom of spine; age tanning is very mild and uniform. Dustjacket is unclipped (no price) with no tears - and looks nice except that back cover shows light rubbing and faint scratches. No stamps, marks or writing - a clean copy that is probably unread.

A hardcover collection by H. G. Wells: Thirty Strange Stories. Most of Wells' stories were collected before 1900, and there are dozens of collections reprinting from the original half-dozen collectons. Which volumes are best for you depends on what you already have or how much you like H. G. Wells' stories.

This is a sort of omnibus, containing all 17 stories from The Plattner Story (1897 - the first place those stories were collected), and 10/15 stories from The Stolen Bacillus (1895 - another "primary" collection of Wells stories.) As far as I can tell, 3 stories were first collected in the 1897 edition of this book: "The Reconciliation" (a.k.a. "The Bulla"), "The Rajah's Treasure" and "Le Mari Terrible."
