(Long Afterword by Jane Yolen)

Original appearances from 1980 to 2000 - sources include Magazine of F&SF, Isaac Asimov's, Pulphouse, Twilight Zone, Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears, Black Heart, Ivory Bones, Faery!, Am I Blue?, The Book of Kings, Sisters of the Night, 12 Impossible Things Before Breakfast, Elf Magic, Visions, Fires of the Past, Black Swan, White Raven, The Armless Maiden, Dick for a Day, Warrior Princesses, and Starlight 1. "Speaking to the Wind," "Under the Hill," and "A Ghost of an Affair" appear to be original to this collection.

As with most Yolen collections, there is some overlap with other collections by her. About 2/3 of these are first collected here, and the sources are far-ranging or hard to find - so this is one I'd recommed picking up if you are a fan of Yolen's short fiction (like me.)
