J. G. Ballard's third collection of stories: Passport to Eternity. Ballard was first noticed in Britain where he published his early stories in the late Fifties, then in America when they began collecting these stories in book form in the early Sixties Ballard was known more for psychological or "Inner Space" stories involving near future disasters or deserted landscapes. Richard Powers' surreal cover art makes a perfect complement to these stories.
The Man on the 99th Floor
Five of these stories first appeared in New Worlds magazine, one in Science Fantasy (all in Britain), and 4 in Amazing or Fantastic (in the U.S.) Most appeared 1962-63, with one each from 1956 and 1958.
