Book= VG+ to near-Fine
Dustjacket= Fine

The only flaw to the book is a mild spinal tilt; dustjacket is perfect, and protected by a relatively unworn DJ protector.

11 interior illustrations by GlennRay Tutor - a full page black & white for each story (not the poems.) Unlike most (but not all) Arkham House books, this one does not include a statement of the size of the print run. They are usually 3000 copies.

Michael Bishop's first collection: Blooded on Arachne. Michael Bishop is an author who can impress the hell out of you. He has won a couple of Nebulas (including one for the novel No Enemy But Time) and can have an ironic, anthropological bent. He is fearless- he'll write about anything (the titles should give some idea...) I have read enough of these in original sources to say they are the same quality as those in his second collection (also from Arkham / which I have read) - that one impressed me with his range and ability.

(Preface by Michael Bishop)
Among the Hominids at Olduvai (poem)
Blooded on Arachne
Cathadonian Odyssey
Effigies
The House of Compassionate Sharers
In Chinistrex Fortronza, the People are Machine
Leaps of Faith
On the Street of the Serpents
Pinon Fall
Rogue Tomato
Spacemen and Gypsies
The White Otters of Childhood
For the Lady of a Physicist (poem)

These stories originally appeared between 1970 and 1978 - in Magazine of F&SF (5), Cosmos, Galaxy, Epoch, New Constellations, Science Fiction Emphasis 1, New Dimensions 5, Black Holes, and Anthology of Speculative Poetry 3.
