Tight and square, age tanning is negligible (good paper) - this looks new/unread. There is a 2" area of faint scuffing/scribble near top of front cover (in middle of "Dreamweaver" of title) - that may not show up in scan (tends to be visible in angled light.) | |||
The 1996 Boskone Guest-of-Honor book by Lois McMaster Bujold: Dreamweaver's Dilemma - a collection of stories and essays/articles. Even though it takes up 2/3 of the book by pagecount, I consider the fiction to be the minor part of the book - 2 previoiusly unpublished novelets, 3 early stories, and a reprint of a novella that one could call Bujold's "master" piece: the Hugo and Nebula award-winning "The Mountains of Mourning" - a piece that shows Bujold's strengths (but is also in 3 or more other books by her.) The treat for me was the "peek under the mask" provided by the 4 essays/aricles which originally appeared in places most readers would not have seen. Included in passsing is an explanation for her prolific first year which had 3 books published 4 months apart. She didn't write them that fast - just kept shopping-around the fist 2 books as each was finished, and started the next. When she finally found a buyer/publisher - they took all 3 novels she had.
