Coyote Jones is sent on a mission to the aptly named planet Furthest to investigate why the inhabitants were falsifying all data, attempting to appear absolutely average. He chances into a personal crisis faced by his assistant: his sister had been sentenced to Erasure, and he wanted Coyote to take in the fugitive girl and hide her. Against his judgement, Coyote agrees, and finds that he now has the key to the questions he had, and that the answers were stranger that he could have possibly imagined. The people of Furthest had a secret they were trying to hide from the Galaxy...
