Book is tight and square; age tanning is mild and uniform. No stamps, marks or writing. Bookplate of previous owner in middle of first endpaper (which is very slightly wrinkly because of it.) Top of DJ has 1" tear near top left of front cover (neatly repaired with tape on backside); 5" bend-trace and associated short tears at end at top of back cover - see scans. The 1980 SFBC hardcover reprints used the artwork by Vincent DiFate from the 1974 2nd-printing series of paperbacks by Berkley-Medalion. Those were wraparound covers taken from a triptych created for the series by DiFate. The hardcover reprints just match the front covers (back covers are blank.) In my opinion, the DiFate covers are the best-looking ones of any edition. | |||
Philip Jose Farmer's To Your Scattered Bodies Go. 1972 Hugo winner - best novel. First in the "Riverworld" series. It is a "fix-up" - revised from 2 short novels originally in Worlds of Tomorrow: "The Day of the Great Shout" and "The Suicide Express." All of humanity has been resurrected on the banks of a multi-million mile long river. By who? Why? Follow Sir Richard Francis Burton, as he attempts to find out. |
