Ace 3rd printing September 1972 paperback (revised edition copyright 1968; original cut version copyright 1962.) Cover by Jeff Jones, 159 pages, 75 cent cover price. Condition is VG(+): tight and almost square; spine is flat with one line, age tanning is mild and uniform, insides of covers show more aging; light overall wear - heavier on back cover. No stamps, marks or writing - a clean copy.

The Jewels of Aptor - A thousand years after the Great Fire, three Heroes must recapture the third jewel of Argo from the forehead of the statue of the Dark God Hama, in the land of Aptor. They are Geo, the earth-bound poet; Urson, a bear-man strongman; and Snake, a four-armed thief. Snake is a Strange one- marked by more than his four arms, he is a telepath.

This was Delany's first novel, and was drastically cut for its appearance as half of an Ace-Double in 1962. (The introduction mentions it was cut; elsewhere Delany described the experience as pulling out pages and connecting the sentences.) This edition is the second uncut appearance of the novel. I'm always impressed by Jeff Jones' work - you won't find a better looking copy of this title than the ones with this cover.
