Condition is VG+ or better in a VG to VG+ dustjacket: book is tight with mild tilt; ends of spine show the usual mild bump-traces; age-tanning is negligible (good paper.) Dustjacket has a 1/4" tear and some associated fold-traces at middle of bottom edge of back cover; moderate rubbing wear with most on the back cover (but no text or picture to obscure - just blank green.) DJ has an odd aging-defect: there are a bunch (100+?) of tiny pale brown spots or dots - but ONLY on the white areas (including type), and NOT on any green or brown area (see scans.)

Original appearances were from 1952 to 1966 - in Magazine of F&SF (3), Galaxy (3), Beyond, Amazing, If (2), Planet Stories, Worlds of Tomorrow (2), Imagination, and Satellite. Two of these had previously been collected in the rare A Handful of Darkness; for the rest, this marks their first appearance in a P.K.Dick collection. Most British editions of this are abridged - omitting "What the Dead Men Say."

If you haven't read much Philip K. Dick, this collection is a good representation of the range of his stories. "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" is the basis for the movie "TOTAL RECALL" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
